Every little girl realizes dreams inside of her dollhouse. This was something that was realized many years ago by the Germans and the Dutch. While the Germans built amazing wooden dollhouses, the Dutch went all out in building the most detailed and intricately designed Dutch Wooden dollhouses.many women of that time collected these dollhouses and they were more than just a toy for the children.

Inside a Dutch dollhouse, the traditional household living items were all present in magnificent detail. Some of these houses are still displayed today in Utrecht, Amsterdam, and the Haague. These dollhouses represent much of the dutch lifestyle and a lot can be learned from an examination of them.

In Holland during the 17th century, a woman named Petronella Oortman gathered all the help she could in building the dollhouse of her dreams. This was a fashionable past time for the women during this time, but she ended up spending from 1686 to 1705 to complete her vision. Indeed, this is the grandest of dollhouses ans sports a maternity room that many other dollhouses of that time did not.

Everyone over the centuries have had fun making miniatures of the way life is lived during that time. Children from all cultures had little animals and people to play with. The thing that stands out about Dutch baby houses is that they were so minute but with such great and intricate details.

These wooden dollhouses had hearth and tapestries of real velvet. The artists included wall hangings and even the tiny cigar boxes for the father of the house. The cabinets were filled with the things you would have found in the cabinets of those days and the beds were covered beautifully as well.
